Projects and folders
“Meine Projekte” (my projects) is the overview of your organization. Every project is a tile with a picture of the actual scene and the time of its last change. If someone is working in it right now, their profile picture shows up on the tile.
New project#
“Neues Projekt” asks how you want to start. You can choose a template, an empty still or an empty film. If you create it inside a folder, it lands there. It starts out named “Neues Projekt”, and Showoff counts up for every further one so they do not all share a name.
Folders#
“Neuer Ordner” (new folder) creates a folder on the current level. Folders go two levels deep, so inside a subfolder the button is gone. The folder tile shows how many projects and subfolders it holds. If it says “Eingeschränkt” (restricted), only selected people can see it.
Rename, move, delete#
Every tile has a menu behind the vertical dots on the right. It holds everything you can do with the project or folder.
Heads up
A deleted project is gone, scene and all. There is no bin and no undo.
Deleting a folder takes its subfolders with it. The projects inside survive and move to the top level. If the folder was restricted, they keep exactly that group of people. Deleting never makes anything visible to everyone all of a sudden.
Who can do what#
Anyone who can see a project can also open, edit, rename, move and delete it. There is no split between viewing and editing. Only owners and admins of the organization, and the person who created the project or folder, can change its access.
Preview images#
The editor stores the tile’s picture while someone works in the project. If an older project has none, the overview renders it once. With many projects that can take a moment.
